Aussie is Awesome!

Hello Darling Dolls!

Happy Monday! <– that is such an oxymoron. Last week was a little bit on the insane side, but I’m back! I hope every one had a great week and weekend filled with high heels, hot pink kisses, and animal print! That’s my idea of a great week 🙂  So today I have another treasure to share with you all. As you know, (or might not know–click here so you can know) I traded in my tracks, chopped my hair off and decided to rock my self grown hair for a while. I absolutely hated it at first, but now that it has grown out a little, I’m loving it! My hairneeds oil. It devours it, but I hate that weighed down, nasty, greasy, gunky disgusted look that you can get when you use too much product. I also hate that dry, brittle, I’m hanging on for dear life look that you can get from not using enough product.

My stylist recommended the Organix line and I started using the Organix Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy shampoo, conditioner, and anti-breakage serum. I also purchased the Coconut Milk oil. I love this line so much, I blogged about it! I am still using all of the products, but I’ve found a better alternative to the Coconut Milk. Drumroll please…

Aussie Smoothing Serum! When I think of Aussie I imagine purple kangaroos, blonde wavy hair and the beach. I do not imagine straight smooth hair. In college, I wore my hair naturally curly and it was always hard and crunchy because I used Aussie Sprunch spray. Seriously, you could bend a curl and it would crack! Needless to say, this smoothing serum was a pleasant surprise.

I use a gracious amount of this when my hair is wet and once it’s dried I use a little bit more to tame the serious frizz situation I have going on. I’ve limited myself to only flat ironing my hair once a week, so after that’s done I apply a liiiiiittle bit more to make it silky smooth! I usually wash/condition my hair on Sundays and I don’t have to use the serum again until Wednesday! This might not be a big deal to you, but the way my hair devours oil, not having to put anything on it for 3 days is uh-maazing!

I do still recommend Coconot milk, but this serum has a thicker consistency so it works better for my hair. What are your favorite hair products?! Let’s dedicate this week to having a good hair day every day! I only say this because I just washed and conditioned yesterday & I’m getting my hair done on Thursday, so I’m guaranteed a good hair week lol Hot pink kisses to you all!

Sensational Sigma!

Hello Darling Dolls!

It’s Monday again. Oh, joy! 🙂 The same day I received that horrible BirchBox in the mail, I was delighted to also receive my kabuki brush from Sigma. Look how cute the packaging is!

I ordered the Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki – F80.

I’ve seen many youtubers and bloggers raving about Sigma and honey they were raving for a reason! I needed a brush worthy enough to apply my new remarkable Revlon foundation and this brush is absolutely sensational. The bristles are super soft and do not feel like sandpaper like other “lower end” brushes I’ve tried. I wholeheartedly endorse this product. This brush is comparable to a MAC brush and it was only $18! I am planning to purchase a set or at least replace my most used brushes with Sigma. My next buy will be a blush brush.

Friday, Rima and I went to a magazine launch for Carolina STYLE mag and I was finally able to try out my brush! I am thoroughly pleased at how evenly I was able to apply my foundation. I will never use another sponge again!

While I’m here.. I’ll show you guys the rest of my outfit..

What I’m wearing:

  • Forever 21 Electric blue pumps
  • Xhilaration by Target turquoise pencil skirt with exposed zipper (that was not exposed)
  • Zara exposed zipper (that was exposed) polka dot blouse  (I live for the exposed zipper)
  • Charlotte Russe necklace (that Rima was gracious enough to let me borrow)
  • Peacock feather earrings

Have any of you tried Sigma brushes? If not, they have gotten the Tashara seal of approval! What are some other affordable brushes that you guys like? Let me know!

Birthday Weekend!

Hello Darling Dolls!

I must say that last weekend was absolutely UH-MAAZING! It was awesome having Tasha come to town and meet my new friends, see my new town, and dwell in my new apartment even if it was just for two days. She and I haven’t been shopping together in forever, so we hit up the mall Friday. I never find anything in H&M or Forever 21, but lo and behold, with Tasha around I found some good, affordable pieces! Woop woop! Even though we’ve been friends for about 7 years now, Tasha has only done my full face once. ONE TIME, Y’ALL! She beat me out for my wedding day (of course) and now I’ve reached another monumental time in my life–my 25th birthday! Here’s a pic of me going out on Saturday night.

What I’m wearing:

  •  American Eagle blazer – $29.99 (on sale!)
  • Forever 21 Dress – $8.80
  • Mossimo purple pumps from Target – $29.99
  • Charlotte Russe cuff – $5
  • Purple teardrop earrings from a friend – FREE!
My pony ($10.99) was inspired by Kim K and Princess Jasmine, whom Kim K actually thinks she is.

We went to a wine tasting Saturday afternoon and I wore all Old Navy everything with the exception of the fedora (b’day gift from Tasha) & my bag which was another b’day gift! Jacket – $19.99, v-neck $6, skirt $17.99, loafers $14.99

Tasha and Rima were so cute!

We had a little get together on Friday night and I must say this might be my favorite outfit I’ve worn in a while!

What I’m wearing:

  • American Eagle glitter loafers – $19.99
  • Black leggings from JCPenney – ? i’m sure they were less than $10
  • H&M Leopard tunic/dress – $12
  • Wrap around skinny belt from Old Navy – $5.99
  • Crochet crop top from Forever 21 – $12.50
  • Bangles from Wet Seal – $3.50
  • Owl feather earrings (that you can’t see) from JcPenney – $3

I have to say that Tasha does some uh-maazing makeup. Here’s a close up of her eyes on Saturday. I will ask her what colors she’s wearing and then force her to do a video on this look! Isn’t it gorg?!

Here’s a close picture of us on Saturday night:

I can’t forget Rima who looked absolutely amazing in a sequined mini from Express and smokey eye by Tasha!

I love how all three of us are totally different, have completely different styles, but mesh so well together!

The weekend was great and I also got some pretty snazzy gifts! 🙂 Happy Birthday to all you April babies out there!

April BirchBox

Hello Darling Dolls!

Happy Monday! My birthday weekend was spectacular! I have plenty of pics to show you guys, but I’ll do that later. Just know that the weekend was full of fashion and fun! Before I show what I received in my Birchbox, let me rant first. I did not want this Birchbox. Like on most online services now a days, I thought there was a skip the month option. I checked my account as I usually do and saw a purchase for Birchbox for $10. Y’all just do not know how mad I was when I saw this. Now if I want to reinstate my membership with Birchbox, I have to be on a waiting list again. THEN when I opened my mailbox today there was a mini Birchbox in comparison to the box I received last month. So not only did I get a box I didn’t want, I got a minibox. If you can’t tell, I’m a little ticked off about this. I like the idea of Birchbox, but I feel like they need to clean up the system a little bit. ANYWAY, this month’s products were all natural.

  • Befine Skincare Sampler
  • Dirt Luxe salt scrub in lemon leaf
  • Orofluido Beauty Elixir for hair – I tried this today. It works wonders, adds shine but doesn’t weigh down the hair. An added plus is that it smells wonderful! I did a homemade hot oil treatment last night and with this added shine, my hair is extra happy!
  • Vapour Organic Beauty Elixir Lipgloss – This is a pretty color. I will debut it at work tomorrow.
  • Le Palais des Thes tea bags – Honey, I can’t pronounce this, but I’m sure this tea is superb! I will let you know.
I’m not wowed, impressed or excited. If you received a BirchBox this month, I hope it was better than mine!

Dress Up Your Drawers!

Hello Darling Dolls!

HAPPY FRIDAY the 13TH! Happy day before my birthday! WOOHOO! Yesterday I shared how coffee beans have made their way into another room in my apartment. You guys seemed to like my idea, so I shared with Ready, Set, Dresss how to spice up makeup drawers, then I realized that I’ve never taken a pic of the rest of the stuff in my bathroom. I ordered clear drawers by InterDesign from Amazon. I also ordered my apothecary jars from Amazon. I had some left over scrapbook paper from the picture frame earring holder that I made and decided to glue (because hot gluing is my thing) clear, cellophane scrapbook paper to the bottom of the drawers and one piece on top. I also stuck some pearls on top to add a little extra flair. I have small drawers, but you can do this with any size drawers.

I showed you guys the coffee beans that I put in the apothecary jar with my MAC lipsticks. Here are the other two jars. One is filled with  mascara and the other has my drugstore lipsticks & glosses. The little white bowl is actually 1 of a set of 4 dipping bowls that matches a serving plate that I have. It was filled with my lipsticks and glosses, but I outgrew it. Now it holds my sponges.

Lastly, I have a contraption/organizer situation hanging on the wall beside my sink. I picked this up at Marshall’s for $15 and it has been a life saver. I love my apartment, but it lacks storage space. This organizer holds my rollers, flat irons, hair products/tools, and smell goods!

That’s all for my bathroom. I have a DVD organizer on the floor beside my toilet that houses towels, toilet paper,  and baskets filled with random items. Can you believe my bathroom doesn’t even have a medicine cabinet?! I am sure a man with no beauty products designed this place! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Do something fun, be fabulous, and smile!

Coffee Bean Brilliance!

Hello Darling Dolls!

A while back I showed you guys a few of my favorite decor items in my crib.   I had a double coupons for coffee beans, so I decided to replace the beans in the vases on my night stands.  I had 1/2 bag left over and could not figure out what to do with them. I needed to clean off the rubbish on my bathroom sink and then EUREKA!

I use left over glasses as brush and eyeliner/lip liner holders. I’ve been having problems with my liners falling out of my martini glass and these coffee beans are a delicious smelling solution. The container in the middle is an apothecary glass. I always get frustrated with finding my MAC lipsticks, because the name of the color is on the bottom. Now look!

I CAN SEE ALL OF MY COLORS! YAY!!! When I walked into the bathroom to take pics for this blog, I was literally engulfed by an uh-maazing aroma. Be sure not to fill the glass up too much. If it’s too full, once you remove a product you’ll have coffee beans jumping ship! Ladies, this is a cute, contemporary, and savory way to spice up your makeup organizers!

Double Extend for the Win!

Hello Darling Dolls!

Here’s a quick review of one of my K-Mart goodies that I got for 50% off!

L’Oreal Double Extend mascara is everything and more. UH-MAAZING. I bought the CoverGirl Lash Blast with a coupon and was thoroughly disappointed. I went on and on about how much I loved L’Oreal back in college and then switched to Maybelline because Lash Stiletto & XXL changed my life. Double Extend retails for $10, but I bought it for $5. Whoever named this mascara was right on point. Just use the primer and two coats of  mascara and your lashes will extend to the high heavens! The only problems I have is that the brush is a little bit too thick for my taste. Also, I’ve experienced a little clumping, but not enough to deter me from using it.

I have tried mascara after mascara after mascara after mascara and I promise nothing has been comparable to Maybelline’s Stiletto and XXL, but L’Oreal’s Double Extend is up to par! If I’m giving a mascara aside from Maybelline a Tashara stamp of approval, then you know it’s serious! Have any of you tried this mascara? If you haven’t, it’s definitely worth the $10!

Reuniting + Revlon = Remarkable

Hello Darling Dolls!

First, Tasha and I want to thank you guys for all of your help with the NYX Face Awards contest!! Thank you for reblogging, liking the video, and for all of your support and comments! Hot pink kisses all around! We will announce the winner of the NYX Giveaway later on. How was everyone’s weekend?! In my MizOutlet Haul blog, I told you guys that I would be in Alabama for the weekend and that Tasha and I would reunite! We did and it felt oh so good! Look!

I took my weave off and Tasha put it on! Aren’t we so cute? 🙂 She will be in town for my birthday this weekend and we will have plenty of pics to post next week. We might even do a video together! Before I go into my Revlon rant, I want to show you guys the fabulous birthday gift that I g-hub Ryan bought me! Let’s add another to my Firkin collection. I will say that I do not approve of fake Chanel, Gucci, yada yada. Y’all need to save and buy one of those, but unless I’m going to be the next June Ambrose, it’ll take an eternity for me to save to buy a Birkin..

Isn’t she darling?! Do you recognize my blouse? I’m wearing two of my goodies from my Express Haul. I wish you could see the whole outfit. I also wore my leopard Shoedazzle wedges, a necklace from my MizOutlet Haul , and bangles from Wet Seal. Now for the matter at hand! My foundation that I’m wearing is Revlon ColorStay.

The K-Mart in my hometown is closing and all of the makeup was 50% off! I racked up, y’all! Each day this week, I will show items that I purchased. I don’t usually compare high-end products and drug store products, but this foundation is comparable to Smashbox!

I got this foundation at a steal for $6.50 and I should have bought the rest of the stock. I am a firm believer in the phrase, “You get what you pay for,” so I am okay with splurging on necessities such as foundation. I lived and breathed dream matte mousse for years and I must say this Revlon foundation beats out any drugstore foundation that I have ever tried! I’m also wearing a Revlon lipstick in the above picture and it’s not my favorite, but I will let them slide.

Anyway, this foundation is so lightweight, the application is so smooth and let’s just use another cliché phrase, “A little goes a long way.” Let me tell you how you know your foundation is on point.. when someone tells you that they can’t tell you have on makeup. My mom made a comment that she could not tell I was wearing foundation. That is the best compliment that any makeup fanatic can get! I hope you can guys feel my excitement through your screens! Revlon ColorStay Foundation officially has the Tashara stamp of approval! Which drug store foundation is your favorite? Comment and share your excitement! lol

Old Navy Haul!

Hello Darling Dolls!

Have you liked Tasha’s video for the NYX FACE AWARDS CONTEST?! Help us get likes and we will personally thank you with a NYX Giveaway! You’ll receive the goodies I picked up at Ulta during my NYX haul!

I love Old Navy. If you know me then you know that Old Navy is one of my favorite places to shop, but you have to be there at the right time. Many times it’s a hit and miss, but when it is a hit, it’s a hit! Old Navy is one of those stores where you get your staple pieces: V-Necks, tank tops, scarves, sandals. You will never be disappointed with those selections. I don’t buy jeans from Old Navy. I do have two pair of skinny jeans that I wear as cropped pants, but that’s it. The bottom half of my body is hard to dress and Old Navy doesn’t fit my needs. I also shop at Old Navy for my work clothes. All in all, this is my go to store, especially during Spring/Summer.

I received a coupon via email for $10 off a $5o purchase. After we left the mall on Saturday, my friend and I headed to Old Navy with a budget set at $50. Let me just tell y’all that traffic was crazy last Saturday and we ended up parking and walking about a mile to even get to Old Navy. The walk was worth it! I went over budget $7 (which is good for me). For $57 I got:

  • Floral pleated gauze skirt ($17)
  • Loafers (I absolutely love these!) ($14)
  • Leopard print sleeves pocket henley ($10)
  • 2 cropped cardigans ($8 each)
  • Embellished tank ($5.97)

I think I did pretty good! I wore the yellow cropped cardigan to work today with a black dress (also from Old navy), red belt (Old Navy as well) and leopard flats. Nothing says Spring better than Old Navy!
